The police killed the duo after exchanging gunshots near a hypermarket. In the 9.20am incident, police units spotted the two wanted men in a silver Perodua Myvi before approaching the car in an attempt to arrest the suspects. However, according to a police source, one of the suspects opened fire at the police officers as they advanced to the suspect’s car. Selvam was using a fake identification card and had 10 criminal records, including twice being detained under the Emergency Ordinance, while the other suspect had one record under the Dangerous Drugs Act.
K Sivanesan from Negeri Sembilan is only 25-years-old, with one criminal record of drug abuse.

The five were said to be involved in several fatal shootings that took place across the country. Five men were shot dead during a police raid at an apartment in Sungai Nibong. Police had recovered three guns – a 38s revolver, Walther PPK and a Noricho. and several cellular phones, including old black and white mobiles sets, from the shooting scene.

Death of a 40-year-old detainee in the Penang police contingent headquarters lock-up yesterday was due to liver failure. Jamesh Ramesh who was unemployed and had a criminal record for robbery was arrested in front of a community hall in Jalan Patani, here, on Saturday when he was found positive for morphine in a urine test.  Police  only realised that he was dead when they came to the lock-up at 10.30am yesterday to bring him to court for a remand order.

P Karuna Nithi died in police custody. The family was informed of his death in Tampin. Was informed by telephone at 9.45pm yesterday that he had "suddenly died" about 7pm at the Tampin district police headquarters. The family was not allowed to move the body but there was blood on the tray where the body was placed. Karuna was bleeding from the back of his head and there were bruises on his left and right arms. "The doctor said something may have happened to him in the lock-up but we are not sure what," he said. Karuna was on May 31 charged in the magistrate's court in Tampin with "causing hurt".

Dharmendran, 31, was picked up by police on May 11 after he lodged a police report at the Pudu police station when he had been involved in a fight. He has been in remand since that day at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters. "There were physical evidence of beatings and torture to the front of his thighs, and at the back of his body, there were beating marks on his back (severe to the point that) it had swelled up. "The ears are stapled and there are staples left intact, which could be (clearly) seen on the ears.

Kematian Sugumaran: Adakah polis telah bertindak melampaui hak undang-undang?

Merujuk kepada kes kematian C. Sugumaran, berumur 40 tahun, yang dijumpai mati terbujur kaku pada 23 Januari lalu – memandangkan kematian Sugumaran kini dipersoalkan dan disyaki bersangkut paut dengan keganasan polis – Gerakan Malaysians for Beng Hock meminta dengan tegasnya supaya penyiasatan dijalankan dengan segera, dan tindakan yang sewajarnya harus diambil sekiranya terdapat sebarang tanda-tanda yang mencurigakan, bahkan mengantung jawatan polis-polis yang terbabit dan melancarkan penyiasatan mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan.

Menurut beberapa orang saksi, C. Sugumaran dikejari polis, digari di belakang badannya, mukanya disapui serbuk kuning dan dipukul sehingga mati.

Gerakan Malaysians for Beng Hock mengutuk sekeras-kerasnya sebarang keganasan polis, tiada sebarang anggota polis yang berhak menggangap diri sebagai hakim atau melampaui hak undang-undang.

Menurut suatu laporan Pertubuhan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu pada tahun 2011, terdapat lebih daripada 1,500 nyawa-nyawa rakyat terkorban dalam pusat-pusat tahanan dan penjara-penjara di antara tahun 2003 sehingga 2007.

Kes-kes yang disyaki berlaku di bawah keganasan polis meningkat secara mendadak sejak kebelakangan ini, banyak pertubuhan-pertubuhan serta institusi-institusi telah pun menggesa supaya Suruhanjaya Bebas dan Salah Laku Polis (IPCMC) ditubuhkan, namun ianya langsung sekali tidak diambil berat oleh Menteri Dalam Negeri Hishammuddin Hussein dan Timbalan Perdana Menteri Muhyiddin Yassin, yang enggan membuat sebarang balasan ke atas seruan-seruan tersebut.

Keadaan ini mengakibatkan tiada sebarang anggota-anggota polis atau pengawai-pengawai kerajaan yang bertanggungjawab ke atas kes-kes penyeksaan dan kematian di bawah tahanan, di mana mereka yang menyalahgunakan kuasa atau menggunakan keganasan seharusnya dihadap ke mahkamah.

Memandangkan keadaan yang bertambah buruk dan nyawa-nyawa yang terkorban semakin meningkat, Gerakan Malaysians for Beng Hock menggesa kerajaan mengambil tindakan dengan segara untuk menyiasat kes kematian Sugumaran dan menubuhkan Suruhanjaya Bebas dan Salah Laku Polis atas permintaan rakyat.

Cops rule out foul play in convict’s death in cell

On March 6, Ragu, who has a history of a mental illness, quarrelled with and assaulted a shopkeeper.
Subsequently, he surrendered to the police and two days later was sentenced to eight months' jail and fined RM2,000.
Ragu was found dead in the Kampar district police headquarters. was due to pulmonary embolism, which is a sudden blockage of the lung artery. The deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk A. Paramasivam said the post-mortem report also revealed that there was no trauma or external injury.

'Cops smear turmeric, fatally beat handcuffed guard'

Four police officers were alleged to have chased, handcuffed and then smeared turmeric powder on the face of a security guard, before beating him to death along with a mob at Taman Pekaka, Hulu Langat. The eyewitness saw Sugumar being chased by police personnel into a cemetary. The reasons for the pursuit had yet to be determined.
